Goal setting is a powerful technique that provides a direction for our efforts, focuses our attention, promotes persistence, and increases our confidence. Goal setting gives us a long-term vision of where we want to be, steps to get there, and the motivation to begin. It essentially focuses our attention on what we really want to achieve, and helps us organize our time and our resources so that we can make the most out of our lives.
By setting clearly defined goals for ourselves on a regular basis, we decide what we want to achieve, and then we systematically move towards the achievement of those goals. This allows us to measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. We are also able to see what we have done and what we are capable of doing.
